PASTOR DAVIS

Pastor Davis was saved at the age of ten and grew up serving in Broadway Baptist Church. He started on staff fulltime at Broadway Baptist Church and Christian School in 1998 as an assistant to the pastor as well as assistant principal. In less than a year, he became the school’s principal. While working as the assistant to the pastor and the school principal, he earned his Bachelor of Pastoral Studies Degree from Patriot Bible University in 2009. In 2015, after becoming the pastor of Broadway Baptist Church as well as the administrator of Broadway Christian School, Pastor Davis showed his love for education by pursuing his Master of Ministry Degree from Veritas Baptist College. He received his master’s in May of 2019. Pastor Davis feels it is his privilege to continue to serve his Lord in the work of the ministry at Broadway Baptist Church and Christian School.

JULIE DAVIS

Julie Davis is the principal and secretary at Broadway Christian School.  She was a full-time teacher for over twenty years and took on the position as secretary along with teaching classes for several years before becoming the principal at the school in 2017.  Julie began teaching during her high school years at Broadway Christian School doing student teaching. She graduated from Broadway Christian School in June 1980.  She took some classes from Atlantic Baptist Bible College and taught part time at the school during her time at Atlantic Baptist Bible College. Julie taught the first two years after she was married in 1981, and then spent several years at home with her own children.  She came back to teaching when her youngest child started the K4 program at Broadway in 1993.  Julie taught kindergarten, elementary, and middle school students during her years of teaching. She has been in full time ministry at Broadway Baptist Church with her husband, Pastor Jerry Davis, since 1998 when he came on staff as the assistant to the pastor. She serves in many areas in the church including nursery, children's church, and ladies ministries.  Julie loves working with children and their families and has a heart to reach the families that they have ministered to down through the years in their ministry at Broadway Baptist Church and Broadway Christian School.

AMANDA KING

Amanda King has been an elementary teacher at Broadway Christian School for over fifteen years. Amanda was saved at a young age and surrendered her life to the Lord when she was a teenager. Amanda has worked with children in several different aspects since she was fourteen years old. During her high school years she was a teacher’s aide. After she graduated from Broadway Christian School in 2000, she attended Atlantic Baptist Bible College. While attending college she continued to be a teacher’s aide and during her last two years of college was a part time teacher. Amanda graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 2004, and started teaching full time in the fall. She is also very active in various ministries at Broadway Baptist Church including nursery, Sunday school, and music.  Amanda loves to make her lessons fun for her students so that her students enjoy learning.

ASHLEY NATOLI

Ashley Natoli is an elementary teacher at Broadway Christian School where she has been teaching for over fifteen years. After being saved at a young age she surrendered her life to the Lord when she was fourteen years old and has been working with children in the different children’s ministries of her church ever since. Ashley has been teaching at Broadway Christian School since she was a senior in high school when she was a teacher’s aide. After graduating from Broadway Christian School in 2005, she went on to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. While pursuing her degree she taught at Broadway Christian School part-time. After graduating from Veritas Baptist College in 2009, she became a full-time teacher here at Broadway. Ashley received certification from the AACS in October 2012. Ashley is also very active in several different ministries at Broadway Baptist Church including Sunday school, music, and outreach ministry. Ashley enjoys working with children and knows that is what the Lord has called her to do. She loves to laugh and have fun and finds it most rewarding when her students are having fun while learning as well.

DEBBIE DUNBAR

Debbie Dunbar received her education from Atlantic Baptist Bible College and Veritas Baptist College. She has her Bachelor's in Secondary Education. She currently teaches middle and secondary classes at Broadway Christian School where she has been teaching for over thirty years. She has been listed in the Who’s Who of American Teachers. Debbie majored in English but has experience teaching all the other core classes. Debbie graduated from Broadway Christian School herself. Her three sons attended and graduated and now her granddaughter is attending as well. She is an active member of Broadway Baptist Church where she serves in several capacities. An avid reader, Debbie endeavors to encourage her students to develop a life-long love of reading and learning.

SHEILA HOLLAND

Sheila M. Holland received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from VCU in in 1988. She has been painting and exhibiting her artwork for the last thirty-five years. She started teaching painting in 2002 at the Petersburg Area Art League. She has taught at Miles B. Carpenter Museum, Chesterfield Adult Education, Thomas Dale High School Specialty Center for the Arts as a visiting artist, and Broadway Christian School. She has taught children as well as adults and loves to see their excitement with their creativity. She enjoys teaching the children different ways to create and see things as an artist would but in a more understandable, simpler way. She has been teaching art at Broadway Christian School for about three years and loves the Christian atmosphere, students, and staff. Church is very important to her. She was a Sunday School teacher and choir director and song leader at her old church (Oaklawn Baptist) for over twenty years and is currently the song leader and soloist at her current church Shiloh Baptist.

KELLY LAWSON

Mrs. Kelly Lawson is a versatile pianist with an impressive resume of ministry, performance, and teaching experience, having accompanied vocal performances of all sizes in addition to serving as church pianist for multiple churches. She has been playing the piano for forty-seven years and has been teaching piano for the last forty years. Mrs. Lawson enjoys teaching music theory and giving piano lessons for our students here at BCS. She also accompanies all of our group music for ODACS competition and special events. Mrs. Lawson lives in Stevensburg, VA, with her husband, and they serve on staff at Children's Bible Ministries of Virginia. She has seven children and four grandchildren.
